Briefing

Driver Conduct

During racing the overall aim is for no car to contact another, as a driver in ASR it is yours and other responsibility to do their best to prevent this from happening. But, incidents happen and when they do it is proper etiquette to try to return the position to the other driver in a safe manner.

Don’t be overly aggressive when attempting an overtaking maneuver, it is the responsibility of the chasing car to complete the overtake in a safe and clean manner. At the start of the race in particular the chance for an accident is high, please take extra care at the beginning of races remembering that tyres and brakes are both cold, and you do not win a race on lap 1, but can lose it. Whilst we are not trying to neutralize the start of a race, the wisest thing to do is to be extremely cautious and try to avoid high-risk maneuvers.

If an incident does occur during the race, it is the driver’s responsibility to bring it to the attention of the Steward via the Discord Incident Log with the guidelines outlined below.
General Racing Rules

These rules are expectations of all drivers that compete. They are non-negotiable.

Overtaking

It is overtaking car’s responsibility to complete the overtake safely
Overly aggressive and unsafe driving is not tolerated.
Any car that is “Sufficiently Alongside” shall be afforded a car’s width on track
“Sufficiently Alongside” is judged as the chasing car's front axle is past the lead car’s rear axle.
“Dive Bombing” is a risky manoeuvre that usually takes lead cars by surprise and will generally be deemed as overly aggressive.

Weaving and Blocking

Weaving to break slipstream is not allowed. Any more than two movements (i.e. moving across a track then returning to the previous line is two movements) on a straight with a following car may be deemed as weaving.
Blocking on straights is not allowed, drivers need to pick a defensive line and stick to it.
You are allowed to make ONE defensive move. You cannot repeatedly move across the track to defend from a driver.

Re-joining the Track

If you have left the track and are rejoining after an incident, it is your responsibility to rejoin safely and not impact the race of other drivers. This may mean on lap 1 that you will have to wait until all cars have passed before rejoining the track.
Causing an incident during rejoin may incur stronger penalties
Penalties may be applied for gaining an advantage off track
Pit exits are terrible at some tracks. Please be careful when re-entering the track after a pit stop. If you cause a collision because you’ve just charged straight on, you are at fault. Keep an eye on your relative and your track map!

Actions During an Incident

If you have been involved in an incident and are unable to maintain control of the car, drivers shall hold the brakes and not attempt steering inputs or to fight the car. This will make the car’s movement on track more predictable for other drivers to react and avoid further incidents.
Drivers that have gone off track may maintain control of their cars and re-join so long as it is done in a safe manner
During Races

Blue Flag

When presented with a blue flag, you MUST maintain a predictable line which is commonly the racing line. When getting a Blue Flag please do not stop a faster car getting through. This being said, don't just stop! Stay on your line and do not defend the car coming through. Having said this, the onus is on the faster car to pass safely. If you deliberately punt or ram a slower car to get past, you will be penalised. It can be frustrating to try to pass a slower car at some tracks, but just because you’re faster, it doesn’t give you the right to the road.
Conduct off Track

Drivers must not use language that can be deemed to be obscene, vulgar, insulting, threatening, abusive, libelous, defamatory or otherwise at any time. Any kind of harassment is strictly prohibited. Drivers must be respectful to ALL members or ASR at all times. You are also expected to join the ASR Discord server in order to receive notifications and communications.

Drivers are allowed to flash their headlights – but it must be appropriate. Flashing is not required, and should not be overused.

Nice race I enjoyed it, in the first one someone touched me behind mmmmmm... in the second one I made a mistake not wanting to give up the position, but I was in the lead for two or three laps :) ... greetings to all, thanks M. Barry :)

@raul really sorry about the coming together in Race 2, T1 . Just seen the replay and saw that you got squeezed from your left and had to steer tight into the corner, by then I couldn't react quick enough. Again I apologise.

@Jepson sorry about pushing you wide at T1 in race 2. I was trying to get out of the way. Sorry again 🙏

Ok Mike, a lot of cars there. I had fun after, overtaking from P18 to P3.
